Laundry 101

Microwave?  Check.  New laptop?  Check.  Registered for classes and meet n' greet with new roommates?  Check.  Laundry?  Uhh....

When I went to college I had done laundry plenty of times before.  But for some reason being on my own and standing in a room full of quarter gobbling machines I was suddenly very intimidated.
And lots of grads going off to college for the first time probably don't have a stockpile of laundry items to take with them.  But they will need them, making this gift basket a great graduation gift!

Any combination of these items would would work:
  • Laundry Basket
  • Detergent
  • Fabric Softener
  • Dryer Sheets
  • Stain Removers
  • Wrinkle Release
  • Febreeze
  • Lint Roller
  • Clothes pins
  • Roll of quarters
  • Hangers
  • Towels
  • Sheets
  • Rags
You can download the printable tag here.

  2. I think #7 should read as: add to the washer, not dryer.

  5. Love this! One of my favorite college gifts was a laundry bag with my initials on it, a roll of quarters, and laundry detergent.

  6. Great idea!!! I'm a senior in college and it seems like laundry is one of the biggest things for students to get used to. Awesome idea for a graduation, and even throughout the school year-we students have s m a a a a l l budgets ;)

  8. You're missing the last letter "r" in numbers 1 and 9 on the word manufacturer ;)

  10. I got something like this when I graduated from high school and headed off to college - it was probably the most useful gift I was given!

  11. What a wonderful basket to give a college student! I love what you've shared. One thing- on the instruction tag - the word "manufacture" should really be "manufacturer".... THANKS!

  12. Might want to add to your Laundry 101 instructions - Do Not over fill the wash tub or dryer tub! My daughter tried to wash 6 towels, her sheets, and more. She could not figure out why the machine kept stopping - over load! Then she finally crammed it all in the dryer and could not figure out why it would not all dry! LOL! This is also very dangerous having this much in the dryer, your dryer does not get the proper air circulation and it could even start a fire. She said she had this load in the dryer for over 4 hours!!! Someone finally told her what was up!
