This is what makes me smile.

I hope you don't mind if I take today and share a personal post.  I'm just so excited about something my husband and I have been working on, and we hope it will help us on our adoption journey.  If you follow my blog you know that we are trying to adopt and we are really excited to grow our little family through adoption.   While we wait for our family to come together this time of year can be very hard for me.  Mother's Day is often a strong reminder of all the things I long for and ache for.  But at the same time I cannot help but be immensely grateful for the wonderful life I have, my loving husband, and our fun, silly, and happy life together.  We wanted to share a little glimpse into our lives and show who we are so that if there is someone out there who is considering adoption they can get to know us a little bit better. We made this video and we would love for you to share it with anyone who may be interested.

So if you, or anyone you know is thinking about adoption be sure to visit our adoption blog and please feel free to email me with any questions!
P.S. If you're reading this in an email you might need to click through to the actual post to see the  video!

  7. Thank you for sharing the video with us. The adoption journey is difficult. I know because I walked it for many years. I am the mom of 2 adopted girls. I remember the pain and heart-ache that would surface this time of year. I promise those memories will fade and they will be replaced by new, special memories. Don't give up on your dream. The end of the journey is worth every ounce of pain! I will keep you in my prayers.

  9. I totally agree with Shanna May. I,too, have 2 adopted girls. Mine are from Benin, west Africa. It was a long, and sometimes painful journey, but like with "birthing pains" the bad memories fade, and your life is filled with so many joys and giggles, they are easy to forget! God Bless you!

  11. You're such a sweet couple,I pray you'll soon be a family of three!! My nephew and neice just adopted a little boy from Russia, they returned home with him when he was eighteen months. So precious that God planned for this little boy to be their son. It was a long process, but with the joy he has brought, I think that has all been forgotten!

  13. To be completely honest, I didn't think I was going to like it. I thought it would be like a paper profile just in video form but it was so much more. It gave such a great glimpse into your personalities - more than you can get from looking at a paper profile or a website. It made the two of you seem so real and down to earth - two qualities that were very important to me when I was looking for an adoptive family for my baby ten years ago.
