Making Marshmallow Flowers

Do you watch Cake Boss or Ace of Cakes or any other amazing cake decorating show?  They blow my mind.  I don't know how they even begin to learn their decorating skills or how anyone can eat all that fondant after it has been rolling around in all those hands for days and days.  I always think about that.   Am I the only one?

Well if you are a beginner like me than this simple method for creating marshmallow flowers is perfect.  It is easy and can still give beautiful results!

Supplies needed: Marshmallows, sprinkles, melted chocolate or frosting, scissors.  You can use any size marshmallow you want- mini marshmallows will make little delicate flowers.  The ones pictured here are the jumbo size.

Cut each marshmallow into thirds if using the jumbo.  You might only be able to get two petals out of each marshmallow if you're using a smaller size.  When you cut the marshmallow it will automatically point at one end giving you a perfect petal shape.

The cut side will be sticky now too.  Dip it straight into whatever color sprinkle you desire.

Using dollops of melted chocolate or frosting attach the petals to each other.  Plop a big dollop in the center to hold it all together and cover with additional sprinkles.

These are really pretty on top of cupcakes, sheet cakes, round cakes, cookies, etc. and can be made in any color!
