Just because there are not enough fall wreaths floating around in Blogland I thought I would throw mine into the mix. : )
Did you know that you could go to Home Depot and buy a six foot long piece of foam pipe insulation for only $0.97? Well, you can. And you can take that piece of foam, cut it to any length you want, duct tape the ends together, and have the perfect foam wreath shape. Thank you Pinterest for that tip! I don't think I will ever be buying a wreath form at a craft store again.
From the dollar store I bought some yarn, a leaf garland and cut off the leaves to hot glue onto the wreath, and the haunting season sign. I already had the ribbons.
Total for my holiday wreath: $4.00. Gotta love that!
*Post Note- The wreath form is not very strong and after a particularly windy day it was looking a little bent out of shape. Some strong wire around the back of the wreath was an easy fix, but it is something to keep in mind!*

I like the saying. It's a nice change of pace from "trick or treat" or "boo" or "halloween".
ReplyDeleteVery cute! =D
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using unexpected materials that are inexpensive and repurposed to create beautiful crafts. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBesides the fact that the wreath is just so darned cute, the pipe insulation is GENIOUS!
ReplyDeleteHow did you keep the pipe insulation from bending? I'm not having any luck :(

DeleteHere is a good tutorial if you're having a hard time getting your wreath to be round. Hope this helps!
