Easy Fourth of July Decorations

Last month my husband and I flew down to Charlotte and surprised my mom for Mother's Day.  It was so much fun, she had no idea and was completely shocked.  We had a really great weekend with them and while we were there my mom showed me some of her latest crafty creations.  She is a talented lady.  And today I want to share with you one of the cute table decorations she made for the Fourth of July- and how easy it would be to use this same concept for all other holidays and events.

Supplies needed- Styrofoam balls, scraps of paper or ribbon, straight pins, and dowels.

Cut your paper into strips 3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide or use pieces of ribbon similar in size.  Roll into a circle and use a straight pin to attach to the Styrofoam ball.  I imagine that if you wanted to use the larger size Styrofoam balls you would cut your paper into larger strips, just an FYI.

Repeat until you have the entire ball covered.  Once finished insert a dowel into the bottom of the ball.

Finally my mom placed the decoration into a jar with some red marbles and tied some red, white, and blue ribbons around the jar.

Simple and cute!  And doesn't it look so pretty with her blue and white china?  It is a perfect Fourth of July table!
Now think about all the other possibilities.  Green and red for Christmas, black and orange for Halloween, bright colors for a birthday or baby shower...like I said so easy!  Thanks mama, for sharing your talents and great ideas with us today!
