Pop on over for a game!

A couple of weeks ago a friend and I put on a Game Night for the ladies in our church.  We shared a very brief message at the beginning of the night about the importance of spending time with your family.  Whether that family is made up of 2 or 12, spending time with each other, away from TV, cell phones, and video games is so important.

"Families that play together stay together, especially when their play is uplifting and wholesome. Family vacations, holidays, birthday celebrations, and other activities build strong bonds and feelings of self-worth. The phrase “Remember when we…” is sure to bring love and laughter in the years to come"

After we shared our message we gorged on popcorn and played games together.  It was so much fun!  We all laughed and giggled like little kids.  And the popcorn was delicious.  The night went so well that I decided to share it with you so you can throw your own popcorn and game night.  This would be a fun get-together with friends or a special night with your families.

We wanted to keep it super simple and casual so we just decorated one table with food and games.  The popcorn buckets and cups are from the dollar store and the dollar spot at target.  Love those places.  (I wish I would have had the popcorn bucket when putting together this gift.  Would have been perfect.)

We had butter and cheese popcorn (cheese was late to the party so it is not in the pictures) and I brought Oreo and Cinnabon popcorn.  They were huge hits!  I am kind of partial to the Oreo, it was delicious!  You can find the amazing recipes here: Oreo and Cinnabon

After I cut out the tags I just taped them onto some wooden skewers.  Fill in your own popcorn flavors, or other refreshment ideas, for your own tags.

Here are the invitations we handed out a couple of weeks before with blank space for you to fill in your own information.  The most important thing is to just have fun!!!

  4. So cute! Thanks for sharing this. We have a marriage ministry at our church that I help to organize and every 3 months, we host a couples night where child care costs $5 per family...this would be a perfect game night idea!
