Hey everyone, I`m excited to be here at Darling Doodles today!
I`m Sarah & I blog over at Crafting and Creativity.
I was trying to come up with something to give a friend from church for Christmas.
She has older kids & teenagers & spends lots & lots of time driving kids here and there.
So I thought a little kit of the "car essentials for mom" would be fun & something useful.
Here's what I came up with...
My items all ready to go...
Mom's Survival Kit
{for the car}
- chapstick
- hand sanitizer
- kleenex
- band aids
- tylenol
- hand lotion
- wet wipes
- hair elastic
- post-its & pen
- throat lozenges
- mints
- nail clippers
- chocolate
I found the little cosmetics bag at Walmart for around $7, and everything fit inside, except the chocolates. So I just put those on top, then tied the ribbon around and added the bow with some hot glue.
I left the tag that came on the bag & just added patterned paper on both sides. Then made a simple label for one side & put a little distressing ink around the edges.
It's a pretty simple gift, but I think any busy mom "chauffeuring" her kids around so much would appreciate it! :)
I hope to see you at Crafting and Creativity real soon!
Brieanna, thanks so much for having me today!!

Okay, this idea is beyond great. I think my favorite part is how she reused the tag that already came on the bag and covered it in paper. How simple, but I never would have thought of it! I love the whole thing!
This would be perfect for the plane as well. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThis would be perfect for me! I'm going to see if I can find an extra cosmetics bag lying around...
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea, it reminded me of Brie's "Junk Drawer" in a rubbermaid container some posts back... always needing some of those essentials.
ReplyDeleteMy daughters now husband made a kit like this for his car. It was called Colette's Survival Kit (which he painted on the outside of a guys travel bag so it didn't look too silly in his car). He filled it with all of life's necessities..... hair ties, deodorant, chap stick, tampons and Midol. A very sweet gift!!!
DeleteThis is awesome and exactly what I'm looking for! I'm doing a Secret Pal thing with the Air Force Wives group that I'm a part of and I think this would be perfect for the lady I'm getting a gift for!
ReplyDeletePS I love surfing the web randomly and finding all the best stuff on blogs are written by mormons! ^.^ We're everywhere!!! lol
