I'm still learning...

In August my blog will officially be having its one year blogiversary.  I can't believe I have already been doing this for almost a year!  It's crazy!  Today my mom and I were talking about when I first started blogging and remembering how I asked, "Do you think I can do this?"  "What will I talk about?"  "Will anybody want to read anything from me?"   When I started I had no idea how much work went into making a blog a business and while I still have SO much to learn I feel like I've also come a long way.  One of the very first recipes I shared was one for Homemade Ice Cream and the other day my husband and I made it again.  (It's delicious if you haven't checked it out!)  I took this opportunity to update the picture I had taken the first time I shared the recipe, because oh my wordy did it need it.  This is a prime example of the progress I've made so far.

I mean seriously, this is a bad picture.  It was at night, the ice cream was all melted, I was using one of our "ugly" bowls...who would want to eat this?  But at the time this was my best and I will be forever grateful to my readers who have been with me from the beginning and stuck with me throughout this process.  Here is the second, newer picture:

I'm much more happy with this one.  Slightly better, wouldn't you say?  I really am trying to learn all I can about photography, and design, and staging and believe me, there is a lot to learn!

Another one of my favorite things about blogging is the opportunities I get to make custom orders and design party packages for my readers.  It is so fun and I am always amazed at the creative party themes people pull together.   I usually share some pictures of the custom orders I do on Facebook, but if you don't follow me here are some of the ones I've done recently!

Thank you so much to these great customers who have let me be a part of their celebrations!  And thank you to all the people who subscribe and follow this blog, you guys ROCK!

I hope you'll continue to follow me and I hope you continue to find ideas and inspiration as this blog grows.  For the past couple of months I've been working on putting together a new website and moving from Blogger to my own self-hosted site on Wordpress.  Hopefully the new site will be up and running soon!  Here is a sneak preview of what it will look like:

I can't wait to share it all with you when it is finally ready!  Hopefully soon!
